After years of playing the “preferred provider” game to ease the financial burden of speech therapy, we have eliminated the intrusion of managed care insurance into our relationship with the families with whom we work.  We are very happy to assist families in filing insurance by providing statements complete with treatment and diagnosis codes. However, our practices will not be guided by an insurance company.  Our therapists will devote their energies to the effective treatment of the children with whom we work, not unethical frequent testing and meaningless paperwork.  Our goals for your child will not be limited to goals that can be artificially measured by percentages.  At Park Cities Speech, our experienced therapists will provide care based upon the established standards of practice according to the American Speech, Language & Hearing Association.   Without the intrusion of managed care, we can charge reasonable rates to all our families,  without the inflation necessary to cover the excessive paperwork and lost revenue that often goes with being a managed care provider. We have found this to be a useful arrangement for our insured and uninsured patients.  Many families who sought services based upon insurance coverage were surprised to discover that only diagnoses linked to “illness or injury” are covered and/or coverage is limited to only 25 session per year.
